PD offers more flexibility than centre-based haemodialysis: you do it at home (or office), travel-friendly with portable supplies, no needle sticks, and gentler on the cardiovascular system. CAPD requires 4 manual exchanges per day; APD uses a cycler overnight while you sleep. Both have similar clinical outcomes.
